I’m Remo H. Jansen, a Spanish 🇪🇸 software engineer living in Ireland 🇮🇪 since 2010.

I’ve spent my career trying to understand what actually makes some teams consistently high-performing while others struggle. Early on I focused on the technical side — bringing stronger engineering practices from .NET into the web through TypeScript and tools like InversifyJS. Over time I realised that tools and architecture alone are not enough. Process and the way teams work matter just as much.

The arrival of AI agents is the biggest shift in how we write software since the Agile Manifesto. For a short window, people are more open to change. My current focus is on using that window to build better ways of working — architectures, verification practices, tooling, and team norms — so that we can get the benefits of agents without sacrificing quality.

I lead a cross-functional team at Marsh responsible for the full application lifecycle, with a strong focus on AI-powered applications. Before that I held technical roles at Microsoft, Aerlytix, Aon, and others.
