Summary
I found a stale historical reference in the Trade-offs section of Building Private Bonds on Ethereum – Part 3.
The
Custom UTXOlink was valid when the writeup was published on 12 February 2026. Map PR [#112](ethsystems/map#112), merged on 12 March 2026, later consolidatedpattern-zk-shielded-balances.mdintopattern-shielding.md. The writeup still references the deleted file.I updated the link to [Shielding](https://github.com/ethsystems/map/blob/master/patterns/pattern-shielding.md) and added
pattern-shieldingto the post’smap_refs. I verified that the replacement covers the relevant notes, commitments, nullifier set and Railgun material.This is one commit modifying one file. The surrounding sentence and the Part 1 and Part 2 links remain unchanged.
Verification
I checked current upstream
mainand searched open and recently merged PRs before preparing this contribution. The stale reference remains present, and I found no competing fix.Against upstream
mainat63f99bd, with the existing content submodule unchanged:git diff --check: passed.pattern-shieldingis present inmap_refs.npm test: 58 tests passed after generating the required graph data.npm run lint:refs: passed.npm run build: passed; 218 pages built.Custom UTXOlinks topattern-shielding.md.On the clean checkout, the initial test run could not collect the render-link suite because
src/data/graph.jsonhad not yet been generated. The build generated it, and the subsequent test run passed all 58 tests.
