Issue Resolved / Feature Added

Updated the CLI tooling to ESLint 10 and Babel 8.

Resolution

  • Updated eslint to ^10.11.0. enact lint and the dev-server lint (eslint-webpack-plugin) now run ESLint 10.
  • Updated @babel/plugin-transform-modules-commonjs to ^8.0.1.
  • Added @babel/core@^8.0.1 as a peer dependency, matching babel-preset-enact, which now targets Babel 8.
  • Replaced eslint-plugin-import with eslint-plugin-import-x in dev dependencies, because eslint-plugin-import does not support ESLint 10.
  • config/eslintWebpackPluginConfig.js: removed the react/jsx-uses-react and react/react-in-jsx-scope rules that were added when the classic JSX transform is used (DISABLE_NEW_JSX_TRANSFORM=true). babel-preset-enact no longer supports the classic transform, and eslint-config-enact no longer registers a react plugin (rules now use their ESLint React names), so with this variable set the build lint failed with could not find plugin "react".
  • Solved newly surfaced ESLint warnings/errors:

Additional Considerations

  • Breaking: requires ESLint 10 and Babel 8 (@babel/core 8 peer dependency). DISABLE_NEW_JSX_TRANSFORM no longer has any effect.
