Asep Ridwan Lubis, S.Mat., MBA, CSBA
Digital entrepreneurship lecturer at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia Β· Founder of Veronica Labs Β· AI agent builder
From zero to Veronica Labs β pelan-pelan, tapi jalan terus. π
I'm an ITB MBA graduate who has taught Business Education at UPI since 2020. I also build and run my own AI products through Veronica Labs, an independent AI product studio in West Java. I research digital entrepreneurship and MSMEs (UMKM), have been writing about AI since 2023, and teach agentic AI to beginners.
My working principle: AI agents do the work, humans make the decisions. π€
π« Nadi: Indonesian-language AI news portal Β· nadi.veronicalabs.id
- An agent-assisted newsroom: bots score news sources and draft articles, then a human editor reviews and publishes every piece.
- Transparent AI use: every AI-assisted article is labeled on its page.
- 20+ articles published plus a weekly newsletter (as of October 2026).
More from Veronica Labs
- π§Ύ CekPajak UMKM: checks whether an MSME qualifies for Indonesia's 0.5% final income tax, in two minutes.
- π Olah Data Statistika: six classical assumption tests in the browser, with explanations in Bahasa Indonesia and Word reports.
- π Kelas Agentic AI: a beginner class on how AI agents work and how to use them, taught live.
- π€ AI agents for UMKM: a managed AI assistant for each small business (in development).
Side projects
- π¬ Email triage agent: a Telegram bot that triages multiple Gmail inboxes with Claude. It sends real-time alerts, daily digests, and one-tap actions (archive, label, reply), and it is self-hosted with Docker.
- ποΈ VeroEye: a Telegram bot built on Hermes Agent that turns a second-hand webcam into a smart home camera. It runs on motionEye and reports motion, and because it is LLM-based, it can tell whether it sees a person or something else and describe the condition of the room.
- π Home lab: mini PCs running self-hosted AI agents (Hermes Agent by Nous Research), a Jellyfin media server, a self-hosted archive for personal documents, and secure remote access. This is my playground for learning infrastructure the hands-on way.
- Focus: digital entrepreneurship, social commerce, and MSME performance.
- Methods: SEM, mediation models, Rasch model, bibliometrics, fsQCA.
- Teaching: Digital-Era Entrepreneurship, Digital & Virtual Business Management, Digital Economy & Business.
- Track record: 43 publications Β· 57 citations Β· h-index 5 (Google Scholar, Oct 2026) Β· 12 copyrights registered with DJKI (2024β2026).
- On AI since 2023: Balancing the Equation: Investigating AI Advantages, Challenges, and Ethical Considerations in the Context of GPT-3, Natural Language Processing, and Researcher Roles, SAR Journal 6(4), 2023. doi:10.18421/SAR64-5
