Changelog

Sourced from virtualenv's changelog.

Features - 21.13.0

  • Add Changelog and Funding links to the PyPI project metadata, and replace the 2020-202x placeholder in LICENSE with 2020-present so the copyright field of the wheel SBOM reads as a real range - by :user:gaborbernat. (:issue:3334)

Bugfixes - 21.13.0

  • Escape the curly single quotes U+2018-U+201B in the PowerShell activator's quote so a virtual environment prompt, name or Tcl/Tk library path containing them can no longer close the string literal and run commands - by :user:gaborbernat. (:issue:3325)
  • Stop the bash activator from re-expanding the prompt inside PS1, so a virtual environment name or --prompt value containing $(...), backticks or backslashes no longer runs as a command each time bash draws the prompt - by :user:gaborbernat. (:issue:3326)

Improved Documentation - 21.13.0

  • Correct the documented changelog fragment types and example to match the enforced towncrier categories. (:issue:3323)
  • List the Unlicense and the SPDX BSD variants in the runtime dependency licensing policy, matching the filelock releases virtualenv installs on Python 3.9, and describe the dependency review check that enforces the policy. (:issue:3329)
  • Show how to check a release with gh release verify and gh release verify-asset, and how to rebuild the zipapp byte for byte with the build tool versions its SBOMs list. Drop the claims that the zipapp build does not pin the distributions it bundles and that wheels differ between build machines - by :user:gaborbernat. (:issue:3330)

v21.12.1 (2026-09-24)

Bugfixes - 21.12.1

  • Limit the :PEP:832 .venv redirect to folders holding a pyproject.toml and no .venv yet, so virtualenv foo in a scratch folder, and tools such as tox or nox building environments through virtualenv, no longer claim a folder's default environment - by :user:gaborbernat.

    • --venv-redirect writes the redirect in any folder and replaces an earlier virtualenv redirect.
    • A flag on the command line overrides the environment variable and the config file in either direction. (:issue:3316)

9.0.0

isort 9.0.0 is the result of several alpha and beta releases, as well as a small number of fixes added after the last beta. For release notes for the individual alphas and betas we would like to refer to:

Skipped version numbers are the result of changes to our release infrastructure that broke while creating the actual releases.

Please find below the full release notes for version 9.0.0, the newest release of isort after version 8.0.1.

isort 9.0.0 contains some significant changes and improvements. Most notably there is now support for Python 3.15 and its lazy imports and we have included several performance improvements as well as providing mypyc compiled wheels for all major platforms and supported versions of Python. In our own tests we saw speeds ups of more than 2x and 3x times, but this is highly dependent on the codebase isort needs to inspect.

The full list of changes is as follows:

Updates plotly from 7.0.0 to 7.1.0

Release notes

Sourced from plotly's releases.

v7.1.0

Added

  • Support marginal_x/marginal_y="heatmap" in density_heatmap, drawing a single-row/column heatmap strip in the margin colored by the same z/histfunc aggregate as the main plot and sharing its color scale [#5706], with thanks to @lucasjamar for the contribution!
  • Add support for custom tick values in mpl_to_plotly when the matplotlib tick positions don't follow an arithmetic progression, including custom tick labels and tick values on date axes [#5262], with thanks to @robertoffmoura for the contribution!

Fixed

  • Fix Plotly Express treating unsigned integer columns (uint8, uint16, uint32, uint64) in pandas DataFrames as categorical, which caused px.bar and other functions to pick the wrong orientation and render unexpected plots [#4291, #4344], with thanks to @Belagum for the contribution!
  • Fix mpl_to_plotly not setting paper_bgcolor and plot_bgcolor from the matplotlib figure and axes backgrounds, so converted figures match the source figure's background colors [#5285], with thanks to @robertoffmoura for the contribution!
  • Fix rendering issue causing a too-large div when calling Figure.show() in Google Colab [#5718]
  • Fix the sphinx-gallery scraper so that it generates thumbnails for figures shown with fig.show() or displayed as the last expression of a code block [#5701], with thanks to @larsoner for the contribution!
    • The scaper now warns once (instead of failing the build) when static image export is unavailable
  • The sphinx-gallery scraper no longer scrapes files belonging to other examples during parallel builds [#5701], with thanks to @larsoner for the contribution!

Updated

  • Update plotly.js from version 4.0.0 to version 4.1.1 [#5722, #5730]. See the plotly.js release notes for v4.1.0 and v4.1.1 for details. Notable changes include:
    • Add an opt-in modebar button for downloading Plotly figures as JSON [#7990, #8022]
    • Add legend.groupdoubleclick to set the group behavior for a legend double-click [#7997]
    • Increase default double-click delay threshold to 500ms (from 300) [#8014]

psycopg release notes

Current release

Psycopg 3.3.6 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^

  • Add support for Python 3.15 (:ticket:[#1245](https://github.com/psycopg/psycopg/issues/1245)).
  • Don't wait forever for a query to terminate after interrupting it, for instance if the server is unresponsive. The fix requires libpq 17 or newer (:ticket:[#1371](https://github.com/psycopg/psycopg/issues/1371)).
  • Cancel a running query upon receiving !SystemExit (:ticket:[#1384](https://github.com/psycopg/psycopg/issues/1384)).
  • Report !None instead of 65535 as the Column.precision of an :sql:interval column declared with a fields restriction and no explicit precision, such as e.g. :sql:interval day to second (:ticket:[#1397](https://github.com/psycopg/psycopg/issues/1397)).
  • Fix dumping of nested subclasses of lists as arrays (:ticket:[#1398](https://github.com/psycopg/psycopg/issues/1398)).
  • Discard prepared statements upon :sql:DEALLOCATE ALL (:ticket:[#1408](https://github.com/psycopg/psycopg/issues/1408)).
  • Better guards dumping large Python !int to binary numeric (:ticket:[#1414](https://github.com/psycopg/psycopg/issues/1414)).
  • Improve performance of async queries by reducing the overhead of the !wait_async() function (:ticket:[#1331](https://github.com/psycopg/psycopg/issues/1331)).

Psycopg 3.3.5 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^

  • Discard prepared statements upon :sql:ALTER * or DISCARD * (:ticket:[#1307](https://github.com/psycopg/psycopg/issues/1307)).
  • Fix !ProgrammingError when dumping non-!None values with no !NoneType dumper registered in python implementation (:ticket:[#1325](https://github.com/psycopg/psycopg/issues/1325)).
  • Fix !wait_selector wait function to not raise !KeyError (:ticket:[#1327](https://github.com/psycopg/psycopg/issues/1327)).
  • Fix !DataError messages leaking the literal {...} placeholder instead of the offending value when loading a pre-year-1 :sql:timestamp or a malformed binary :sql:jsonb value (:ticket:[#1372](https://github.com/psycopg/psycopg/issues/1372)).
  • Raise !DataError instead of !ValueError when ~psycopg.rows.namedtuple_row receives duplicate column names (:ticket:[#1348](https://github.com/psycopg/psycopg/issues/1348)).
  • Raise !DataError on inconsistent copy data (:tickets:[#1359](https://github.com/psycopg/psycopg/issues/1359), [#1360](https://github.com/psycopg/psycopg/issues/1360)).
  • Handle client encodings aliases (:ticket:[#1363](https://github.com/psycopg/psycopg/issues/1363)).
  • Fix building C extension with Cython 3.3.
