VividSense is a student-led engineering organization developing affordable assistive technology for people with disabilities. We combine mechanical design, electronics, and software to explore practical ways to support everyday independence.
Our work also includes engineering education, introducing students to accessibility-focused design and the process of turning an idea into a working prototype.
The repositories below contain prototype code from our engineering projects.
| Project | What you'll find |
|---|---|
| Dexarm | Arduino servo-control code for our prosthetic-arm prototype. |
| The Surrounding Scanner / TSS | Ultrasonic distance sensing and audio feedback designed to help users detect nearby obstacles. |
| EquiSeat | Early Arduino firmware and Python visualization for a pressure-distribution feedback cushion project. |
- LaunchSB 2026: 1st place with Dexarm.
- LaunchSB 2025: 2nd place with The Surrounding Scanner.
- Contribute: Help improve firmware, data visualization, or documentation. Open an issue in the relevant repository to discuss a substantial change before starting.
- Collaborate: Interested in assistive technology, student workshops, or a partnership? Contact vividsenselabs@gmail.com.
